Everyone keeps saying Marta is useless but I use it every single day

I live in Decatur and work off the North Avenue stop. I drive maybe twice a month when I absolutely have to. The rest of the time I take the train and it gets me there in 25 minutes flat. Last week my coworker from Alpharetta spent an hour and a half stuck on 85 and told me Marta was a joke. I just don't get why people who never ride it act like they know how bad it is. Has anyone else actually given it a real try for their daily commute?

FOLKS in Alpharetta don't even know where a train station IS.

But have you actually tried driving from Decatur to North Avenue in rush hour though? I live near Decatur and used to take Church Street all the way into town before I gave up and started riding Marta. Took me 45 minutes on a good day and way longer when anything happened. Now I'm on the train 25 minutes every morning reading a book. My buddy in Alpharetta swears he'd never ride Marta but he also spends two hours a day in his car listening to traffic reports. People who never step foot on the train have no clue what they're missing.

You ever had a friend who swears they'd "never ride that thing" then gets forced into it? My buddy lives in Buckhead, always talked trash about Marta. Then his car broke down for two weeks and he had to take the train to his office near Five Points. First day he texted me "ok this is actually fine." By day five he was complaining about the bus schedule that connects the last mile. But the train part? He admitted it was faster than sitting in that Buckhead traffic. Funny how a broken alternator changes your whole outlook.
