Found out MARTA has a train car from 1979 still running and I had questions
I was riding the blue line near Five Points and noticed a plate on the car that said it was built in 1979. Looked it up after and found out some of the old rail cars are still in service way past the 30 year mark they were designed for. I ride almost every day and now I notice the peeling seats and busted AC way more. Does anyone know when the new cars are actually supposed to be fully rolled out?

My buddy rides the blue line every morning from Decatur and he started keeping track of the car numbers on his phone. He's got this whole note full of dates and numbers now, and he says the same beat up cars keep showing up on his route week after week. Last month one of them had a seat cushion that was straight up held together with duct tape and he sent me a pic of it. He asked a worker about the new cars and the guy just laughed and said don't hold your breath. Seems like the rollout keeps slipping and nobody wants to give a real date.
