Got told my gutter pitch was off and it totally changed my installs

Had a homeowner in Decatur call me back after a big storm saying water was pooling near their foundation. I went back out and realized I'd been setting my gutters at too shallow of an angle for years, like maybe a quarter inch per 10 feet instead of the half inch minimum. Now I always bring my level and double check with a string line before I finish up. Anyone else ever get a critique from a client that totally shifted how you work?

Haha yep, my first gutter job looked like a wavy potato chip before a buddy set me straight.

My neighbor tried to DIY his gutters last summer and they looked like a roller coaster by the time he was done. Water was pooling everywhere and the fascia boards started rotting within a few months. He ended up having to pay a pro to rip the whole thing out and start fresh.
