Heard a guy at the Varsity say the Braves are overrated and it got me thinking
I was grabbing a chili dog last weekend and this older dude at the next table told his friend the Braves bullpen is gonna tank their whole season. He was real specific about it, named three relievers I barely knew. I shrugged it off at first, but then I looked up their ERA numbers later and yikes, he might be onto something. Anyone else hear predictions like that from random strangers around town and end up believing them?

Can't believe Ron got that spooked from a Gators hat guy at the Varsity. I mean, I get it, I looked up Chris Martin's WHIP too after that old dude mentioned him and it was not pretty. But a whole season outlook change over a hot dog take? That's dedication. Ron probably checks his phone before even ordering a chili dog now, making sure the Braves pen hasn't blown another lead while he's in line.

My buddy Ron was at that same Varsity last week, heard some guy in a Florida Gators hat ranting about how the Braves bullpen was a ticking time bomb. Ron laughed it off, ordered a frosted orange, and then looked up Chris Martin's WHIP on his phone while waiting for his order. Called me that night all worried, said the guy was basically Nostradamus because Martin's numbers were worse than he thought. Now Ron won't let me talk about the Braves pen without checking Baseball Reference first. It's wild how one random strangers hot take can mess with your whole season outlook.
