Moved to Decatur last month and everyone said I'd love the square but I actually hate it

Everyone keeps telling me the Decatur Square is the best part of living here. I went there three times in two weeks and the crowds at Victory Sandwich Bar made me want to leave within 10 minutes each time. The parking situation is a nightmare even on a Tuesday afternoon. Has anyone else found a part of Atlanta that's supposedly great but just doesn't work for you?

Man that Victory Sandwich Bar line is actually insane every time I go near there. The whole square feels like a tourist trap to me honestly. Parking alone makes me avoid that whole area, its not worth the stress for average food. I live in Kirkwood and people hype up the Pullman area but its just overpriced breweries with nothing special. Sometimes the popular spots just dont hit right no matter how many people tell you they're amazing.

Is it the square itself you hate, or is it more that the parking and crowds ruin the experience before you even get to enjoy it?
