My neighbor's kid asked why I still use a paper map, and it made me pause
I was showing my 14 year old neighbor how to get to the new taco spot on Buford Highway and she pointed at my folded map under the seat and asked 'what's that from the 90s?'. She then said she just types 'tacos near me' and follows the blue dot, no planning needed. Does anyone else feel like we lost something when we stopped looking at the whole route before we start driving?

Oh come on, paper maps are a total pain. I get the nostalgia angle but I hate fumbling with a giant map in the car while trying not to crash. I'd rather have Google tell me exactly where the turn is and if there's traffic ahead. Plus those maps get outdated fast, my old one still shows a restaurant that closed five years ago. The real question is do you actually pull over and study that thing before you leave, or are you just using it for decoration?

What's the point of having a map if you're gonna trust a robot to do the thinking for you?
