Serious question about the changes on the Beltline Eastside Trail
I've been walking this stretch for about 4 years now. The section between Piedmont Park and Krog Street tunnel used to feel like a hidden gem, mostly locals and a few tourists. But starting around mid-2022, I noticed the crowd shifted hard. Now on a Saturday afternoon, you can barely move through there with all the people, the e-bikes, and the pop-up vendors. It went from chill to chaos in less than 18 months, and I'm wondering if it's just the new apartments going in or something else driving it. Has anyone else noticed how the vibe changed that fast on that specific part of the trail?

...and I swear I read somewhere that the city was actually tracking the number of people using that section and it went up by like 60% just last year alone. That tracks with what I see, it's like someone flipped a switch. The new apartments around Ponce and the North Avenue area definitely brought in a younger crowd that treats the trail like their own personal hallway. But I think the bigger thing is all the social media attention, every influencer in Atlanta has to film their walk to Krog Street now. It used to feel like a real neighborhood path, now it feels like a tourist attraction.
