Showerthought: I thought local farmers markets were just overpriced grocery stores until last Saturday

I live in Decatur and always skipped the Saturday market near the square. Figured it was just rich people paying $7 for a tomato. But my neighbor kept pushing me to go, so I finally walked over last weekend with $40 in my pocket. Bought a basket of peaches from a guy named Ron who actually grows them himself in Hampton. They were $5, same as Kroger, but those things were so sweet I ate three before noon. Then I grabbed some honey from a beekeeper who told me exactly which flowers his bees hit in the spring. That honey is gone now, I used half of it in tea in 4 days. I'm not saying I'm a convert forever, but that trip made me wonder how many other things I've been sleeping on because I assumed they were hype. Has anyone else found a local spot you dismissed at first that totally proved you wrong?

Yeah @stellachen caught me, I basically live at that honey guy's booth now.

Didn't your friend end up going back to Ron every weekend after that?

Guess @stellachen is right, some people just can't quit bad habits. It's like watching a trainwreck in slow motion. Old patterns die hard, especially when comfort is involved.
