The 3-block stretch of Ponce that turned into a parking lot overnight

I drive Ponce de Leon between North Ave and Boulevard almost daily for work. Last June I could breeze through that stretch in about 4 minutes during mid-afternoon. Now it's a solid 15-20 minute crawl every single day. The difference is those two huge apartment complexes that went up on the corners plus the new Chick-fil-A that opened in July. I swear the city didn't add a single lane or adjust any light timing to account for it. Has anyone else noticed certain roads around town getting way worse in just the last 6 months?

Wait, hold on - they added a Chick-fil-A too? Are you serious? I can't even wrap my head around someone making that decision. Look, I get that people love their chicken sandwiches (I mean, I do too), but putting a fast food drive-thru on a stretch that was already a mess is just asking for trouble. That's like pouring gasoline on a fire and then blaming the firefighters for showing up late. And the fact that they didn't adjust the light timing at all? That's almost impressive in a sad, bureaucratic way.

Right, because nothing says "smart city planning" like adding two massive apartment towers and a drive-thru chicken joint to the same 3 blocks without touching the lights or lanes. lol. I swear the city engineers just roll a dice to decide which intersections get turned into a permanent parking lot each month. The worst part is the timing of the lights now, you sit through a full red cycle just to watch 3 cars crawl through before it turns back. It's like they're daring us to just abandon our cars and start walking everywhere in flip flops.

You ever notice how it feels like every road in this city is just one new development away from total gridlock? I drive through similar spots around town and it's wild how nobody seems to think about what happens when you add hundreds of cars without changing anything else. It's like they slap up buildings and figure the traffic will just sort itself out, but it never does. Does your route have any other chokepoints that popped up out of nowhere too?
