TIL it takes 11 months to get a new mailbox key in Atlanta
Lost my mailbox key last January, contacted USPS, and after 11 months of back-and-forth they finally showed up with a new one. Has anyone else waited that long for something stupid simple?

It's like everything takes forever now... just basic stuff.

Gotta disagree a little bit here. I manage a crew and we deal with parts and service delays all the time, stuff that should take a day takes a week or more. But a lot of those delays are because the person doing the work has fifty other jobs stacked up and not enough help. I waited three months for a simple part for my lawnmower last summer and yeah it was annoying, but it wasn't like anyone was being lazy. They just had a backlog. Sometimes you get lucky with a quick fix, sometimes you don't.

Right? @nancythomas, you're spot on. I used to roll my eyes at people complaining about wait times, figure they were just being dramatic. But then I needed a simple lock change for my front door after a break-in and the locksmith was booked out for six weeks. Six weeks for a basic lock swap. Total eye opener. Now I totally get the frustration with stuff like mailbox keys.
