Took me 6 months to figure out MARTA bus transfers work way different than the train

Disagree a bit here. The bus transfers only work if you stay on the same route number or catch a specific connecting bus at the right stop. Took me forever to realize the little colored dots on the schedule actually mean something different for buses than the train. You basically have to plan your bus route down to the minute or you're stuck waiting 45 minutes.

Got a buddy who tried to use the bus to get to a job interview last month. He hopped on the 42 like the app said, saw a colored dot he thought meant a free transfer, got off at the main hub and waited an hour. The next bus never showed, the app glitched and said it was "arriving" for 20 minutes straight, and he ended up calling an Uber in a panic. Missed the interview by 15 minutes. He still rants about those dots whenever someone brings up public transit. Pretty sure he just walks everywhere now too, even if it takes twice as long.

Man, that's frustrating! I had a buddy who tried to transfer buses downtown last week and ended up walking two miles because the connecting bus just vanished from the app. He said the colored dots were like a puzzle he never solved, and now he just bikes everywhere instead.
