Just realized torque sticks are actually worth it after wrecking a lug nut on a F-150
I always thought torque sticks were a gimmick (you know, just a way to sell more tools). But last week I was putting wheels back on a 2018 F-150 and overtightened a lug nut so bad it snapped the stud clean off. $45 part and an hour of my time later I grabbed a set of torque sticks from the Snap-On guy. They saved my butt on the next 3 trucks that came through, no more broken studs. Anyone else have a tool they wrote off until it proved them wrong?

Three F-150s in one week is exactly what sold me on them too. I snapped a stud on a 2015 Ram and spent two hours swearing in the parking lot. Picked up a cheap set of Pittsburgh ones from Harbor Freight just to try and they actually work. Now I use them on everything, even my own car. It's just not worth the hassle of guessing.
