Question about rust converters after a convo with a customer
Had a guy come into the shop last week with a 2005 F-150 that was mostly rust. He told me he swears by that Corroseal stuff for the frame, says it beats POR-15 for the price. I've always used the cheap rattle can stuff from Autozone for small spots. Made me wonder if I'm wasting time with the budget options on bigger jobs. Anyone here use that Corroseal on a frame and see it hold up through a winter?

I read on a truck forum that Corroseal hardens like a rock if you apply it thick enough.

Yeah, that "hardens like a rock" thing isn't quite right. Corroseal stays kind of rubbery when thick, it doesn't turn into a solid hard coating like a rock would.

For real @reeseperez? Thick Corroseal gets rubbery, not rock hard. I laid it on heavy on a trailer crossmember and it peeled off like old skin after a month. Truck forums have some wild takes sometimes. Try POR-15 if you want something that cures like concrete. Seen that happen in the sun.
