That rusted bleeder screw ate my whole Saturday, 11 hours for one brake job

Went to do a simple rear brake bleed on my 04 F-150 and the bleeder snapped off clean. Thought it'd be a 20 minute extractor job. Nope. Spent 4 hours just fighting the broken piece, another 3 trying to find a replacement caliper in Tulsa that wasn't special order, and then 2 more with the line wrench rounding off before I gave up and cut the hard line. 11 hours for what should've been a 2 hour job. The old bleeder was so corroded it looked like it came off a shipwreck. I've been at this trade since 1998, and I still get caught by rust I didn't check first. Anyone else keep a spare caliper with good bleeder screws in their box just for this? Or am I the only one who learns this lesson every 3 years?
