Tried a 3/8 stubby impact on lugnuts instead of my old 1/2 gun, way less fighting
Last Tuesday a guy rolled a rusted out F-150 into my bay in Aurora with lugs that hadn't moved in maybe 6 years. I normally grab my old 1/2 inch gun and soak everything in penetrating oil, but my air line was tied up so I grabbed the 3/8 stubby with a fresh 4.0 battery instead. It spun all 20 lugs off without a single broken stud, and the shorter head fit between the wheel and fender way better than my big gun ever did. I still keep the 1/2 for big truck work, but for everyday cars that little stubby is doing most of the job now. What are you all reaching for first on crusty lugs, impact or breaker bar?
