Used to think LED headlights were just for show until I drove through fog on I-10 last month

My buddy convinced me to swap my halogens for a set of Diode Dynamics LEDs after I nearly missed a deer in the mist. The difference was night and day the cutoff actually lets me see the road without blinding everyone else. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a big improvement in bad weather?

Honestly I gotta disagree with that 'night and day' take. I swapped to LEDs a couple years back and in fog they're worse for me. The light just scatters like crazy off all those tiny water droplets. I actually went back to halogen bulbs specifically for winter driving because the yellow light cuts through fog way better. That crisp white light looks cool but it bounces right back at you in bad mist.

Whoa hold on, is this really that big of a deal? I mean we're talking about headlights here, not rocket science. I switched to LEDs in my truck and honestly haven't noticed any crazy difference in fog. Maybe it's just a placebo thing where you expect one to work better and then it does. Or maybe your LEDs are just cheap ones that aren't aimed right. Halogens were fine for decades but people act like they're life or death now.
