Finally swapped out those old ribbon cables on a 737 yesterday

Had to choose between the factory replacement harness or building one myself from scratch. Went with the factory option and it saved me about 4 hours of soldering time. Anyone else run into issues with those brittle connectors on the older Collins radios?

I've been there, those old connectors are just no fun at all (they crack so easily).

You ever have one of those little plastic clips just snap off in your hand for no good reason? I was trying to swap out an old VGA cable on a monitor a few years back and the screw posts just crumbled like dry clay. Ended up having to tilt the whole thing at a weird angle just to get a signal through. Worst part is I kept the dodgy cable for months thinking I might fix it, but it just sat in a drawer taking up space.
