Bought a cheap water filter for the Sawtooths and it broke on day two
I got a $25 filter online thinking it would be fine for a week in Idaho, but the plastic housing cracked after filtering maybe ten liters. Had to boil all my water for the next five days, which added like an hour to each evening. Anyone have a filter under $50 that actually holds up?

Oh man, boiling water for an extra hour every night sounds like the worst. That cheap filter basically turned your trip into a part-time job as a campfire chef. Should've just packed a bunch of those plastic lemonade jugs instead, lol.
