Cascade Pass to Stehekin in late August was the best 4 days I've had on trail, and I'm still chasing that
I hiked Cascade Pass to Stehekin over 4 days in late August and every single thing broke my way, dry weather the whole stretch, blueberries everywhere above Doubtful Lake, and a camp at Bridge Creek with zero bugs. The one thing that almost ruined it was water, I topped off at a tiny creek around 3 miles past the pass without checking the map and it turned out to be the last easy source for a long, dry stretch. What do you all use to figure out how reliable small creeks are on routes like this, or do you just carry extra and deal with the weight?
