My route planning was a mess until I saw a guy's map in Yosemite
I was on day three of a trip in Yosemite, feeling wrecked. I saw another hiker pull out a paper map and mark his campsites with circles, not just a line. I realized I'd only been drawing a line from point A to B, ignoring where I'd actually sleep each night. That meant I was pushing too far some days and stopping early others. How do you plan your daily stops on a multi-day route?

Try circling campsites first, then connect them with your route line.
