My trusty filter pump gave out 9 miles past the Sierras trailhead

I was on the Rae Lakes loop last month when my old squeeze filter started leaking air around the gasket. Tried to patch it with tape and a rubber band, but that only held for one crossing before it quit completely. Lucky I packed iodine tabs as a backup, so I still drank fine, but it added 20 minutes to every water stop near Woods Creek. Anybody else carrying a spare filter after a mid-trip failure like that?
