Rant: I mapped every mile of the Cohos Trail and the number that shocked me was 6
I finally finished plotting the Cohos Trail in New Hampshire onto my own maps after 4 weekends of work. I broke it into sections and wrote down the distance between each spot where you can actually get water or bail out. The number that stopped me was 6. That's how many miles of the northern stretch have zero reliable water sources in late summer, which nobody mentioned in the trip reports I read. If you have hiked that top section in August, how did you handle the dry stretch?
