Tried hiking the Eagle Rock loop in 2 days instead of 3, and my knees filed a formal complaint
Last month I cut the Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas from 3 days to 2 to beat a storm, thinking saving a day meant saving my legs. By mile 18 my right knee was making a sound I can only describe as a rusty screen door, and I limped into the trailhead at 9pm to find my car was the only one left. Does anyone else find that packing lighter for speed actually made the downhills worse, or am I just getting old?
