Finally got my little patio pond up to 200 gallons
I've been slowly expanding this pond in my corner backyard for about 8 months now. Originally it was just a 50 gallon preformed thing with a few goldfish, but I kept adding sections and plants. Yesterday I measured it out and it hit exactly 200 gallons, which felt huge for me. I didn't even plan for that number, it just happened as I added more rocks and a small bog filter. Has anyone else had their backyard project grow way bigger than they first imagined?

Ha! That's how it always starts, next thing you know you're digging up the whole yard.

Right? I feel like water features are living things that just decide when they want to stop growing. 200 gallons is a solid milestone though. Bet your goldfish are loving all that extra room to swim around, and the bog filter is probably going to do wonders for keeping it clear once it's fully established.
I swear, it's like the plants and fish just start demanding more space. One more rock, one more plant, then suddenly you're scouting the next yard for expansion. Pretty soon you'll be looking at that 200 like it's cute and thinking about a 400 gallon upgrade.
