Hit 12 straight Sundays with string trimmer work before the neighbor finally waved

Been trimming ditch lines along our fence every Sunday for 3 months. Finally on Sunday number 12 the old guy next door gave me a thumbs up. Anyone else have a neighbor that took forever to acknowledge your yard work?

Started waving back too late, my arm was already sore from swinging the trimmer. Guess I should've started with a smaller wave.

Man I read some article that said neighbors actually have a whole unspoken rulebook about acknowledging yard work. They wait until they're sure you're consistent before they give you the nod. 12 Sundays is dedication though, you earned that wave. My neighbor took 6 months of me edge trimming before he finally stopped staring at me through his kitchen window. Guess they don't want to encourage someone who might quit after a few weeks.
