I almost destroyed my patio furniture with a pressure washer last weekend

So I got a little carried away cleaning the concrete patio and turned the nozzle toward my metal table and chairs. The paint started peeling off in strips like it was nothing. I had to spend 4 hours sanding everything down and repainting with outdoor spray paint. Now I just use a bucket of soapy water and a scrub brush for the furniture. Has anyone else had their pressure washer wreck something they didn't expect?

You gotta be careful with the pressure washer but I actually think the mistake was getting too close with the wrong tip. I always use a wider spray pattern on furniture and keep the nozzle moving instead of holding it in one spot. The soap and bucket works fine but the pressure washer can actually do a good job if you just back up a few feet and let the force do the work without digging into the paint. Your sanding job probably came out pretty nice in the end though.

Those pressure washer tips are no joke, I learned that the hard way on a deck last summer too @jenkins.reese. Sounds like you made the best of a rough start though.
