I chose concrete pavers over a wood deck for my patio and I don't regret it

Everyone in my neighborhood has those pressure-treated wood decks that look nice for about two years. But after watching my neighbor spend three weekends last summer sanding, staining, and sealing his, I went the other direction. I put down about 400 square feet of concrete pavers from a local yard in Atlanta for around $1,200. That included the base gravel, sand, and the pavers themselves. Seven years later they still look the same, no rot, no warping, no annual maintenance. The only downside is that they can get hot in direct sun, but a cheap outdoor rug fixed that. Has anyone else here gone with pavers instead of wood and found it worked out long term?

SEVEN years with zero maintenance? That absolutely blows my mind. I just spent my whole Saturday fixing a rotten board on my deck and I am SO jealous right now.

@reese_nelson I bet that deck's the reason you're not getting a new phone every year.

That rotten board sounds like it probably has a personal vendetta against you now.
