I ditched my plastic furniture covers for a shade sail and it saved my patio season
For like 5 years I kept buying those thick vinyl covers every fall, you know the ones that turn moldy and rip at the corners no matter how careful you are. Spent maybe $120 a year replacing them. Last March I tore the last one trying to get it over my table and just said forget it. I put up a 12x16 shade sail over the main sitting area instead. Now the sun doesn't bake the cushions and the rain mostly slides off the sail before it hits anything. So far zero mold, zero plastic crumbles in the yard. My neighbor asked if I was worried about UV damage still and honestly the sail blocks like 95% of it here in Phoenix. Anyone else made the swap? Curious if sails hold up after a couple monsoon seasons or if I'm just delaying the same problem with a more expensive tarp.
