I finally solved the mystery of my patio pavers sinking

Last summer I put in 400 bucks worth of pavers from Lowe's in Austin and they kept sinking on one side no matter what. Turns out the previous owner buried a giant tree stump right under that corner, took me 3 weekends to dig it out with a shovel and a sledgehammer. Anybody else deal with hidden junk under their patio causing issues? How long did it take you to figure it out?
