Just hit 50 nights in a row using our new patio

We finished building our covered patio back in April, and I made a little mark on the calendar each night we used it. Hit 50 straight last night, which is wild because I thought we'd maybe use it on weekends. It's not fancy, just a simple 12x16 slab with a basic roof and some string lights. But we eat dinner out there almost every single night now, even if it's just leftovers. My wife said it feels like we added a whole new room to the house without the cost. The best part is watching the bats come out at dusk. Has anyone else found they use their outdoor space way more than they ever thought they would?

We built a fire pit area last fall and it's the same story. I figured we'd use it a few times in the summer, but we're out there constantly. Even in cooler weather we just bundle up. It completely changed how we hang out at home. My kids want to roast marshmallows like every other night now.

Oh man, that's so true. We got one of those little metal fire bowls a couple years back and it's the same deal. It just makes the whole backyard feel like a hangout spot, even on kinda chilly nights. My husband was all "we'll never use it" and now he's the one always asking to light it up.
