My neighbor told me my patio lights looked like a crime scene
Last summer I strung up about 200 feet of cheap string lights across my patio in straight grid lines. Thought it looked clean and modern. Then my neighbor across the fence said it gave off interrogation room vibes and asked if I was running a police lineup. That stung but he was right. I redid everything in a zigzag pattern with warm bulbs and now it actually feels cozy. Has anyone else had a neighbor's blunt comment save them from a bad backyard look?

Brings to mind how we all need someone to point out the blind spots we can't see ourselves.

Buddy of mine was convinced his jokes were killing it at parties. Finally his sister straight up told him he was the guy making everyone cringe (which nobody else had the nerve to say). Changed his whole approach after that.
