My neighbor's one comment about our fire pit made me rethink the whole setup
Last month I was out back melting some old pallets in the fire pit, and my neighbor across the fence yells over, 'You're gonna set those hostas on fire, man.' I laughed it off, but then I stepped back and realized my pit was only about 4 feet from the flower bed and the patio edge. I checked the manual that came with the pit, and it said 10 feet minimum from any structure or plants. So I spent a Saturday afternoon moving the whole thing to the far corner of the yard, and honestly, it felt overkill until we had a windy night a week later and a few embers floated out. Has anyone else ignored the clearance specs until someone called them out, and did you actually move the pit or just shrug it off?
