My new composite deck started warping after just 3 months
I bought Trex or whatever the expensive stuff is from Lowes in April. Thought I was doing the right thing spending $2,800 on materials instead of wood. By July, three boards near the grill area had buckled up like a speed bump. I called the store and they said it was heat exposure and not covered. Am I crazy for thinking this stuff should handle a summer in St. Louis? Has anyone else had composites fail faster than they expected?

Happens with everything these days. You spend more for the "good stuff" thinking you're being smart and it craps out faster than the basic option. Makes you wonder if quality is just a thing of the past across the board.

Calling it 'heat exposure' and not covering it is such a load of crap. I had the exact same thing happen with my Trex boards after one hot summer in Nashville, boards popped up right by the grill just like yours. I even followed the installation instructions perfectly with the gaps and everything, but they still buckled. It's frustrating because you pay all that money thinking you're getting something that'll last and it can't even handle a few months of normal use. Makes me wonder if the cheap wood would have held up better honestly.
