The $20 awning hooks I laughed at actually saved my patio party
Honestly I saw those cheap awning tie-down hooks at the hardware store in Austin and thought they were gimmicks, but after a gusty afternoon sent my canopy flying into the fence last month I gave them a shot. They held the frame solid through a storm that had my neighbor's umbrellas rolling across the lawn, zero wobble even with the wind hitting from the side. Has anyone else found a random low-cost patio accessory that turned out way more useful than expected?
