Took me 4 hours to figure out my string trimmer was out of line

Four hours is just a Tuesday in my garage. You'd think after the third time I'd check the obvious stuff first, but no, I gotta tear the whole carburetor apart before I realize the gas can was empty. At least you didn't have to rebuild the primer bulb only to find out you ran it dry.

Wait, four hours on a string trimmer and it was just the line? Did you at least check the spark plug first, because that's the classic decoy problem? I've spent entire afternoons chasing ghosts on small engines, like the time I replaced the whole fuel line on my leaf blower only to realize the filter was clogged with what looked like muddy coffee grounds. You probably earned yourself a free oil change's worth of aggravation, but hey, now you know the machine inside and out. Next time you'll just stare at it for ten minutes before touching a tool, right?
