Why does nobody talk about the 40 inch rule for patio fire pits?
Read the manual on my fire pit last weekend and it says keep it 40 inches from anything that can burn. Forty. I had mine about 15 inches from the house wall and felt fine about it. Checked the fence line too and it was closer than that. Apparently that number comes from an actual study, not just lawyer talk. Got me counting inches on my whole patio now. How close is yours actually sitting?
