Rant: Stop planting tomatoes in the same spot every year and calling it 'rotation'

My neighbor keeps bragging about his 5 year tomato streak in the same raised bed. Told him last week that's not crop rotation, that's a disease buffet. He laughed it off. Then his plants got blight by July lol. I do 3 year cycles with my 4 beds here in Austin and my yields went up like 30% after I stopped being lazy about it. Anyone else got a neighbor who refuses to move their peppers or squash around?

Wait, are you saying my 4 year pepper streak isn't a flex?

Three years minimum between nightshades in the same bed. Game changer.

Tried that after my second year of peppers wiped out from some soil disease I couldn't figure out. Rotated my tomatoes and potatoes into a completely different corner of the garden and they came back twice as healthy. Still not sure if it's the nutrients or just keeping the bugs guessing but whatever works.
