Row cover over my carrots was a total game changer this spring
I put some cheap floating row cover over my carrot bed in March after watching the birds pick off my first two sowings down to nothing. Six weeks later I pulled up a perfect row of Orange Nantes, no forking, no carrot fly damage, nothing. Turns out the cover also kept the soil from drying out so fast in that windy stretch by my fence. Anyone else tried this trick with root crops or have a better way to keep the birds off?
