Showerthought: My backyard garden is like a team project without any coworkers. Help!
I started a big vegetable garden this year since I'm home all day now! I have rows of beans, some squash, and a few tomato plants. But keeping everything alive feels like a full-time job on top of my real work. For example, I missed watering one day and lost a bunch of seedlings. How do you all handle the daily tasks without burning out? I love growing my own food, but I need a better system. Any tips would be awesome!

Ever try those timer attachments for your hose? Heard they work like what stella_lane said about drip systems...

Missing a single watering shouldn't wipe out seedlings if your soil is right. Mulch is the unsung hero here, keeps moisture in so the roots don't dry out fast. A thick layer of straw or wood chips acts like a buffer for those busy days. It pairs great with what abbyg60 mentioned about timers, tackling the problem from both sides. Good soil that holds water means your plants aren't on a knife's edge. It cuts down the stress and the number of times you absolutely have to get out there.
