The time a raccoon ate half my tomato crop at 3am
I got woken up by a crash in my backyard last Tuesday and ran out in my boxers to find a fat raccoon sitting in my raised bed, munching on my best Cherokee Purple tomatoes. He’d pulled down a whole cage and cleaned off about 6 pounds of fruit. Now I’ve got a motion light and a cheap game camera pointed at the garden, but that little thief still comes back every night like he owns the place. Anyone else deal with raccoons or am I just hosting a nightly buffet?

My Cherokee Purples never stood a chance either, solidarity from one tomato guardian to another.

Wait, yours got wrecked too? I babied mine all spring and then bam, one bad rainstorm and they just split open like they had no will to live.
