Thought tomato cages were a scam until my 2022 San Antonio garden proved me wrong
I always figured stakes were enough for my 6 plants, but after losing half my crop to a July windstorm two summers back, I grabbed a $22 set of those cheap wire cages from the hardware store. Turns out the flimsy ones held up fine and I pulled 40 pounds of Roma off just 4 plants that fall, way more than my usual haul. So what am I missing, are the fancy $60 cages actually worth it or is that just marketing?
