Update: That week in July when my entire tomato crop got blight and I had to choose between ripping everything out or trying a copper spray
Had 14 plants looking perfect on Monday, by Friday I pulled 9 of them with black spots spreading like crazy, the neighbor said I was crazy for not spraying sooner and the garden store guy said copper fungicide is a bandaid not a fix, anyone else ever faced this choice between saving what's left or starting completely fresh midseason?

My grandpa grew toms in the same dirt for 40 years. He swore by two things: never plant nightshades in the same spot twice and always rip out the sick ones fast. Copper spray just masks the problem underground. Those spores live in the soil. I learned that the hard way when my whole bed got hit two summers in a row. Better to pull everything, solarize that soil with clear plastic for three weeks, and start a late crop of determinate varieties like Roma or San Marzano. They ripen faster. You might lose July but you'll have sauce by September.
