Used to dump all my kitchen scraps in the trash, now I have a worm bin that handles everything
For like 5 years I just threw every veggie peel and coffee ground into the garbage bag without a second thought, but last spring I set up a $30 worm bin under my sink. Those little guys ate through 3 pounds of scraps a week and turned it into black gold for my tomato plants. Has anyone else tried composting with worms and seen a big difference in their soil?

It's funny how we try to fix one little thing in our lives and it ends up showing us how much we were wasting before. I got into worm composting last year after realizing my trash can was half filled with rotting food. Now when I see someone toss an apple core in the regular bin, it feels like they're throwing money away. Once you start paying attention to what you throw out, you notice how many of our daily habits are just lazy defaults we never question.

Wait does this actually work in a small apartment? I tried worms once and they all escaped. Died on my kitchen floor.
