Vent: My knees are shot from all the squatting in the garden.

I mean, I love my veggie patch, but idk, maybe it's just me but my knees are killing me after a day of planting beans. I spent all Saturday crouched down, and now I can barely walk without wincing. It's like every time I bend, there's this sharp pain. I thought gardening was supposed to be good for you, but here I am, popping pain meds just to get through the day. I even tried using a knee pad, but it keeps sliding on the damp soil. Now I'm worried I messed up my joints for good. Maybe I need to change how I garden or something, but it's so frustrating when all I want is some fresh tomatoes.

Try putting your knee pad on top of a cheap plastic bag, it totally stops the slide. Evanschmidt is right about them being useless on mud otherwise. Saved my knees last season.

Oh man, welcome to the club... my knees sound like a bowl of rice krispies every time I stand up from weeding. It's the universe's cruel joke that a chill hobby comes with the same joint pain as a pro athlete, but our trophy is just a zucchini. Those knee pads are a total scam on wet ground, I end up just sitting right in the mud like a sad garden gnome.
