Fire lane at my kid's school is full of cars, but the worst one is a teacher
I pick my daughter up from Lincoln Elementary on Wednesdays and the fire lane out front is always clogged. Most parents at least stay in the car with the engine running, but one teacher parks her silver CR-V right in the striped zone for like 40 minutes every single day. I get that staff parking fills up, but blocking a fire lane at a school with 600 kids is not a small thing. Am I wrong for thinking staff should get ticketed the same as parents?
Man, I used to be the guy rolling my eyes at parents who complained about this stuff, figured it was just people being nosy about nothing. Then a couple years back there was a fire scare at my son's school and the trucks couldn't get close because some genius left a car sitting in the lane. Nobody got hurt, but watching a firefighter run a hose around a parked car changed how I see it real quick. You are not wrong at all, a fire lane is not a suggestion and it doesn't matter if you're a parent, a teacher, or the principal. Staff should get the exact same ticket, and honestly the school should be the one telling her to move it before someone else has to. If she needs a spot that bad, the school needs to figure out staff parking, not let her block the one lane that saves lives.
