Hot take: a guy at the gym in Reno called me out for how I park, and it made me rethink my whole parking job
He told me "you park like you're the only one here" after I took up two spots with a Camry in a mostly empty lot at 5am, and honestly he was right. Now I want to know, how do you all handle parking when the lot is wide open but you still feel lazy?
This reminds me of my uncle who used to park his truck diagonally across like three spots at the Walmart in Elko just because he could, and one day some old lady in a Buick just parked right up against his driver side door out of spite. He had to climb in through the passenger side and he was a big guy, so it was a whole scene. He never did it again, not because he felt bad but because he was embarrassed. The thing is, when a lot is empty at 5am it feels like nobody's business, but somebody always notices. I try to just pick a far corner and park normal now, mostly out of fear of the revenge parkers. Plus if you park straight you never have to do the walk of shame back to your car when someone's watching.
