Learned the hard way that a parking brake light can lie to you

Last Tuesday I found out my neighbor's car was sitting in the handicap spot with a fake placard for over six months. I called the city office in Springfield and the clerk told me they only ticket if someone reports it, and just 12% of placards get checked each year. That means a huge number of people are blocking spots for those who actually need them, and nobody notices unless we say something. I took photos of the same car three days in a row and sent them in, they finally towed it yesterday. Has anyone else had luck getting enforcement to act on a repeat offender in your lot?

Tried the same thing last year with a dude who parked his work van in the compact spot every single weekend. Called the lot manager first, got nothing but excuses. So I started taking pics every Saturday morning, same time, same angle, and sent them in a group email to the city and the property owner. Took about a month but they finally slapped a boot on it. @felix_hayes64 I get that it feels small compared to bigger stuff, but when you actually need one of those spots with a bad knee like I do, it stops being small real fast. The trick is consistency, you gotta make it annoying for them to ignore you. Keep at it, they eventually cave.

Nah, you just got lucky they towed one car. Most of us got bigger problems than a neighbor's parking spot.
