My neighbor in Reno parked across three spots for a week straight, and it got me missing the old days
Last week I watched a guy in a silver truck park sideways across three spots at the grocery store on Mae Anne Ave and just walk off like it was nothing. Three years ago in the same lot, an older lady left a note on a car that took two spots, and I honestly think that note worked better than any tow truck. Now it feels like everyone just films it for the internet and drives off. Back then people actually said something to your face, which was awkward but at least it got handled. Is it just me, or did people used to park bad and feel bad about it?
Bad parking has always been a thing, we just see more of it now because everyone has a phone. That note on the windshield? Half the time the person just crumples it up and laughs. And saying something to a stranger's face in a parking lot is a good way to get in a fight over nothing. Tow trucks and parking tickets actually cost money, so they work better than a note ever did. People didn't feel worse about it back then, they just had no camera rolling lol.
