Overheard a guy at the grocery store say his wife parks over the line on purpose
I was waiting for a spot near the cart return at the Publix on Main Street last Saturday and this older dude tells his friend he lets his wife park crooked because it keeps people from dinging their doors. Now I'm wondering how many of those awful diagonal park jobs I've snapped pics of are actually some weird strategy and not just bad driving. Has anyone else run into people who admit they park like that on purpose?

People do a lot of dumb stuff out of fear, not malice.

Do you think most people actually realize they're acting scared when they do something dumb? Tbh I was just reading this article about how our brains shortcut all logic under stress, like we're just running on instinct. @the_mary, I think you're right that a lot of the dumb stuff comes from the gut reaction to avoid something, not from wanting to hurt anyone. Honestly, it's easier to blame bad intentions than to admit someone just panicked. Ngl, I've caught myself getting mad at people before, then realizing later they were just reacting to pressure. It's good to remember most folks aren't trying to be jerks, they're just scared.
