The grocery cart return lot is a parking nightmare
Went to Publix on Main St last Tuesday around 5pm. The cart corral was empty but there were 12 carts scattered across the parking lot. Three of them were actually touching cars. Like people just pushed them and walked away. One was blocking a fire lane. Saw a minivan hit one trying to back out. Does anyone else think stores need more corrals or just better enforcement?

More corrals would help but the real issue is people being lazy. Publix could put an employee outside to round up carts during busy times and warn people who just leave them. That minivan driver probably has a huge repair bill because someone couldn't walk 20 feet.

Ngl I'd probably be the one who hits a cart while driving my own.

Honestly if I tried to drive a shopping cart I'd probably manage to hit a parked car before even leaving the parking lot. My coordination is that bad, I'm a hazard even walking with a cart most days. I've definitely clipped someone's bumper just trying to push my cart back to the corral, so imagine me behind the wheel of one of those things. At least with a real car I'd have some brakes and mirrors to help me out. But watching that video gives me secondhand anxiety because I can totally picture myself doing something just as stupid.
